About this trip
What a Vietnam trip looks like
Vietnam is long, and the north and south feel like different countries. Hanoi is old, dense and low-rise, with a lake in the middle and a quarter of streets each named after the trade once practised on it. Ho Chi Minh City is faster, newer and louder. Most first trips take both, with an overnight on Ha Long Bay in between.
The internal flight between the two is short and cheap, and it is what makes a week enough. Without it you spend two days on the road.
Ha Long Bay is the one thing worth planning around. An overnight on a boat (rather than a day trip out and back from Hanoi) is the difference between seeing the bay and being in it.
Phu Quoc is where a longer trip ends on a beach. It is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, about an hour by air from Ho Chi Minh City, with sunset beaches down the west coast, white sand at Sao Beach in the south-east, and the An Thoi islands off the southern tip for a day on a boat. It is at its best from November to April; from May the monsoon reaches the west coast. The island has its own visa-exemption rule for travellers flying straight in from abroad, but a trip that starts in Hanoi needs the e-visa either way.

We quote per person on twin sharing, and we quote per enquiry rather than publishing a rate. Prices move with your travel dates, the hotel category and availability on the day you book. A published number would be wrong for most people who read it.
Can I change the hotels or the number of nights?+
Yes. Tell us what you want changed (a cheaper hotel, one night less, a different city) and we revise the itinerary until it fits, then confirm the booking.
Is the visa included?+
E-visa for Indian passport holders, applied for online before travel. Visa fees are not included in the package unless the quote says so, and we confirm the current requirement for your passport and dates before you pay.
When is the best time to go?+
