About this trip

What a Dubai trip looks like

Dubai is built for short trips. Everything is signposted, the metro works, and the distances are small enough that a four-night stay covers the city, a desert evening and a day in Abu Dhabi without feeling rushed.

The attractions are almost all ticketed and timed: Burj Khalifa, the Frame, the aquarium, the fountain show. Booking them with the package rather than at the door is what keeps a day from turning into queueing.

The desert safari is the one evening that is not city, and it is worth doing properly: a private or small-group vehicle rather than a coach, and a camp far enough out that the sky is dark.

Burj Khalifa

The tallest building in the world, with observation decks on the 124th and 125th floors and a higher one at 148. Timed entry, and sunset slots sell out first.

Dubai Mall and the fountain

The aquarium sits inside it and the fountain show runs on the lake outside every half hour after dark. Free, and the best thing in Dubai that costs nothing.

Old Dubai and the creek

The abra crossing for a dirham, and the gold and spice souks on the Deira bank. The half of the city that predates the skyline.

Desert conservation reserve

Dune drive, camel ride and a camp dinner under a dark sky, an hour inland. Worth doing in a small vehicle rather than a coach.

Palm Jumeirah

The monorail out along the fronds, Atlantis and the Aquaventure waterpark at the head of it, and the view back at the skyline.

Dubai Marina

The waterfront towers, the walk beneath them, and where the dhow dinner cruises leave from.

The torus on Sheikh Zayed Road, calligraphy cut through its shell. Ticketed, timed, and worth booking days ahead.

In Abu Dhabi, ninety minutes down the coast: white marble, forty-odd domes, and the reason the day trip exists.

Are the prices per person?+

We quote per person on twin sharing, and we quote per enquiry rather than publishing a rate. Prices move with your travel dates, the hotel category and availability on the day you book. A published number would be wrong for most people who read it.

Can I change the hotels or the number of nights?+

Yes. Tell us what you want changed (a cheaper hotel, one night less, a different city) and we revise the itinerary until it fits, then confirm the booking.

Is the visa included?+

Pre-arranged visa required for Indian passport holders; visa on arrival if you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit. Visa fees are not included in the package unless the quote says so, and we confirm the current requirement for your passport and dates before you pay.

When is the best time to go?+

November to March. Travelling outside that window is usually cheaper, and we will tell you honestly what you would be trading away.

What do you need to confirm the booking?+
