About this trip
What a Bali trip looks like
Bali packs a lot into a small island. The south (Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua) is where the beaches, the surf schools and the resorts are. Ubud, an hour inland and several degrees cooler, is rice terraces, craft villages and river gorges. Most trips split their nights between the two, and the drive between them is the only long transfer in the week.
What changes the trip most is where you sleep. A pool villa in Ubud with a jungle view and a beach resort in Nusa Dua are two different holidays, and the order matters: inland first, coast second, so the last days are the slow ones.
Day trips are short. Tanah Lot at sunset, the Tegallalang terraces, Uluwatu for the cliff temple and the kecak dance, and a boat across to Nusa Penida if the sea is behaving. None of them needs a whole day.

Where you actually go
Ubud
The island’s inland centre: craft villages on the road in, the monkey forest at its edge, and rice terraces on every side.
Tegallalang rice terraces
Stepped paddies north of Ubud, cut into the valley side. Go early: by ten the light is flat and the car park is full.
Tanah Lot
A sea temple on a rock off the south-west coast, cut off at high tide and photographed at sunset by everyone who comes.
Uluwatu Temple
A clifftop temple seventy metres above the Indian Ocean, with the kecak fire dance performed in its amphitheatre at dusk.
Nusa Penida
A speedboat east for the cliffs: Kelingking beach on its T-rex headland, Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong. A long day, and a rough crossing in poor weather.
Kintamani and Mount Batur
The caldera rim in the highlands, with the volcano and its lake below and coffee plantations on the road up.
Seminyak
The south-west beach strip: surf, beach clubs and where most of the island’s restaurants are.
Nusa Dua
The calm, reef-protected end of the south coast. Swimmable when the surf beaches are not, which is why families stay here.
Tegenungan waterfall
A short walk down from the road between Ubud and the coast, and the easiest of the island’s falls to reach.
Jimbaran
A fishing bay south of the airport, where the seafood is grilled on the sand at sunset.

Are the prices per person?+
We quote per person on twin sharing, and we quote per enquiry rather than publishing a rate. Prices move with your travel dates, the hotel category and availability on the day you book. A published number would be wrong for most people who read it.
Can I change the hotels or the number of nights?+
Yes. Tell us what you want changed (a cheaper hotel, one night less, a different city) and we revise the itinerary until it fits, then confirm the booking.
Is the visa included?+
Visa on arrival for Indian passport holders, payable at Denpasar, 30 days. Visa fees are not included in the package unless the quote says so, and we confirm the current requirement for your passport and dates before you pay.
When is the best time to go?+
April to October, outside the heaviest rain. Travelling outside that window is usually cheaper, and we will tell you honestly what you would be trading away.
What do you need to confirm the booking?+
